Bio

"Somethin' Like That" started in 2008 in the music room of rythm guitarist Carl Tackett along with his son Michael who plays lead guitar. Influenced by BB King, Eric Clapton, Cream, John Fogarty, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Johnson, ZZ Top and new blues sensation Joe Bonamassa, the band formed with the intent of "keeping the blues alive". Lead guitarist and vocals Michael Tackett is self taught, high energy and creates some of the best blues riffs in the area. His ability to add the slide guitar and harmonica to the mix creates a whole new dimension while still being creative with his own sound. In 2009 Lead Vocalists Jeremy Hughes joined the group. His ability to hit both highs and lows contributed to the flexability the group displays when performing music by The Eagles and Joe Bonamassa. In 2010, Brad Elswick joined the group as Basist along with Mike Hernandez on drums. Brad added experience on bass as he had played with Yello Dye #5 funk group as well as playing at Lala Palooza in Chicago. Mike Hernandez, Texas born adds great drum rythm and upbeat style. The group has a number of originals written by Carl Tackett added throughout their set list. The originals don't stray too far from their goal of "keeping the blues alive". The group has played in the Lexington, KY area, Bar Lex, The Raquet Club, Griffin Gate Marriott, In Frankfort at Brick Alley, at Wilshire's Resturant in Georgetown, Whispering Hills RV Park Georgetown, Elks Club Cynthiana as well as fesitvals and private events. The group looks to expand into other areas along with recording their first CD in the very near future. All they ask is give them a listen and determine for yourself if, "The Blues Are For You".
