Bio

Sometimes Y -
An Evolving Work of Art & Inspiration

Long before The Da Vinci Code or Madonna's cabbalistic journey, Lora and husband, guitarist Kevin Roberts were studying myths, mysticism and the concealed history of religion. Their first CD, I Am, is ripe with ancient metaphor, personal idiosyncrasies, lush instrumentation and Rob McWilliam's swooning Chapman Stick. "Sometimes Y's Dark Side of the Moon."

Nuanced with modern Gnostic and scientific impulses, their latest CD, That's Not What I Heard, "dares to ask the big questions" with rock trip-hop, acoustic guitars and Nigro's evocative tones.

Sometimes Y's music has prophetically echoed mysterious events, one that led Kevin to search for his biological parents and discover that his best friend was his cousin. Lora states, "Its strange writing lyrics. You draw inspiration from an unknown place, which later can reflect your life."

Sometimes Y was voted best band in 2000 and 2001 by WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry.) Production credits include drum samples and mixing by composer/producer Peter Buffett (Dances With Wolves, Spirit-The Seventh Fire) and Grammy winning mastering guru, Bob Ludwig.
