Somnia

Progressive Metal band, Somnia was formed in the Spring of 2006 when guitarists, Zakk Divo and Tom Heierman began jamming together. They began constructing melodically driven, yet rhythmically complex riffs. Their collective knowledge ranging from death and black metal, to progressive and neo classical metal. Soon after they came into contact with their first singer who subsequently introduced them to drummer, Cody Ruthko. Cody brought with him a unique style of progressive, metal, and world precussion to supplement the diverse guitar styles. they Once they began jamming, he was made a part of the band roughly a week later. From there Somnia began composing material for a live set while looking for a bassist. In early summer 2007, the band parted ways with it's singer, welcoming in Daniel Dutton as new frontman and main lyricist. In fall 2007 bassist James Boylan, a long time musician in the Florida metal scene, joined the band. With a talented lineup finally complete, Somnia is setting out to spread their unique brand of progressive metal to the masses.
