The Krupa Case

Sonarkid aus basel wurden im august 2006 gegründet. die drei gründungsmitglieder naima schottländer (bass&gesang), moritz willenegger (drums) und dominique rudin (gesang&gitarre) beschlossen, dass sich die neue band selber hohe ziele in sachen songwriting stecken und so bald wie möglich auf die bühnen raus müsse. alle drei bringen ihre eigenen, sehr unterschiedlichen erfahrungen mit. naima studiert ihr instrument in winterthur und spielte in diversen jazz-formationen. im märz 2006 stiess sie zum ehemaligen band-project von dominique, "Palais du Pop", das sich im juli auflöste. moritz kam bald nach dem entschluss der beiden, gemeinsam weiter zu machen, im august als gründungsmitglied von Sonarkid hinzu. er spielt weiterhin in der fricktaler ska-band "Beefeaters". ein gern gesehener gast ist der ehemalige "Palais du Pop" gitarrist chris meneghetti, bassist der motown soulband "The Basement Brothers feat. The Kitchenettes". zum einen kommt so er hin und wieder zum üben auf der e-gitarre, vor allem aber trägt er bei diesen jams zum entstehen wunderbarer indie rock-perlen bei. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sonarkid took shape in august 2006. located in basel, switzerland, the three founding memebers naima schottlander (bass&vox), moritz willenegger (drums) and dominique rudin (vox&guitar) were brought together by the aim to start a new band with high ambitions in original songwriting and their common strong will to enter the stage as soon as possible. each of them brings along his or her own history in music and band experience. naima is a music student, and has already played in several jazz formations. she joined dominiques previous band-project "Palais du Pop" in march 2006, four month before it split up. moritz joined the two in august 2006, which marked the birth of Sonarkid. nevertheless, he still remains with his localy well known ska-mates, the "beefeaters". sometimes the band is joined by chris meneghetti - bass player with the stunning motown soul band "The Basement Brothers feat. The Kitchenettes" - for fun jams, composing a song or just practicing the guitar... so what will the future bring? one never can tell.
