Bio
The fruit of a teaching experience in the Folk and Traditional Music School of Vigo (e-Trad), Sondeseu was created as the first stable orchestra in Europe focusing on a folk repertoire. It comprises 40 musicians who perform galician traditional music especially arranged for a broad ensemble of instruments (hurdy-gurdies, harps, bagpipes, voices, percussion, fiddles, bouzoukis, double-bass and flutes).
Sondeseu concerts are irrestibly charming to the audience who is mainly atonished by the power created on stage. In this sense, Sondeseu is a perfect ensemble between open spirit and acoustic and strong sound as well as the impecable presence which transmits messages of joy and harmony.
The highlights in their CV include their concerts at the Cork CeltFest (Ireland, 2005 and 2006), the Etnohelmántica festival (Salamanca), FolkSegovia, the Festival Interceltique de Lorient (Brittany, 2006 and 2009), Folk Las Rozas, Orejo (Santander) or the Price Theatre in Madrid, as well as in different towns and cities in Spain and Europe.
Currently, Sondeseu spearhead the European Network of Folk Orchestras, a project aimed at creating in Europe new folk music orchestras linking the educational sphere and the professional field.
