Long Dark Night

Written By: Words and Music by Phillip White

Not getting over that certain pain
This empty feeling won't go away
Go through the paces from day to day
Feel like an alien in this place
It seems the world has gone and passed me by
The method and madness all a careful lie
No point in trying, yet still I try
Maybe I'm sleep walking or have lost my mind

Kyrie-eleison
kyrie-eleison
kyrie-eleison
Have mercy on me

Living in the land
Of the long dark night
It's a dream graveyard
Where our hopes finally come to die
Sacred treasures lost to ancient times

For the highest bidder I will gladly find
Taking their money while they look for a sign
I want to warn them but soon enough they'll realize

We are the heirs the earth our prize
The many dreams, the many lies
The perfect love, the innocent child
Are willed to us on borrowed time

Sometimes I hear the music
Riding on a gentle breeze
Rising from the shadows
Of my broken dreams, they keep haunting me

Living in the land
Of the long dark night
It's a dream graveyard
Where our hopes finally

What Life Is Like (Without You)

Written By: Music by Trammell Starks and Phillip White Lyrics by Phillip White

Every morning
I fight to stay asleep
There's no reason to rise
Every heartbeat
A pounding in my head
I hope for cloudy skies

This is what life is like without you
Another day, another night
Without you

Rose colored glasses
I've worn them for so long
Now forever are gone
This numbness I'm feeling
Is better than the pain
Now I'm just hanging on
Im hanging on

This is what life is like without you
Another day, another night
Makin' it through
This is what life is like without you
Hiding from the light of day
Safe inside this tomb

This Faustian bargain
It comes with a price
This life I'm abiding
Is more dead than alive

This is what life is like without you
Another day, another night
Makin' it through
This is what life is like without you
Hiding from the light of day
Safe inside this tomb

I Will Rise

Written By: Words and Music by Phillip White

This is Oh so lonely
On the road named my own way
A quiet path that's called me
To a place that's yet unnamed
Everyday, on the way
I look for the signs
A mystery, calling me
To a legend I will write

I know I will rise
I will fly someday
I won't be denied
I will find a way
I will fly

There is no explaining
As I walk from day to day
Looking for the answer
Searching for my own escape
Quietly, deep in me
I hear a voice explain
Further on, just be strong
You will find the way

I know I will rise
I will fly someday
I won't be denied
I will find a way
And even though
The road it seems so long
I'll carry on
I will overcome
I will fly

I know I will rise
I will fly someday
I won't be denied
I will find a way I will fly

Not Me In the Mirror

Written By: Words and Music by Phillip White

I see the lines of my life's bitter years
I felt them as they took hold
The secret sorrows of a thousand tears
Regrets that won't let me go

This lie that live
Has brought me to this
A rudderless ship in the storm
The firm grip of fate
Too strong to escape
I know that there's go to be more

It's not me in the mirror
It's not the man I know I am
It's not me in the mirror I know, no
It's not me in the mirror
It's not the life that should have been
It's not me in the mirror at all
Not at all

I see my eyes, the light of hope seems dim
The years have taken their toll
A life of promise has been lost, it seems
A life no longer my own

The deals I have made
The dreams I've betrayed
Have lead me to this sad sojourn
Refusing to wake
From this sleeping state
To travel a road of my own

It's not me in the mirror
It's not the man I know I am
It's not me in the mirror I know, no
It's not me in the mirror
It's not the life that should have been
It's not me in the mirror at all
Not at all

Tears of the Nations

Written By: Words by Phillip White Music by Phillip White and Trammell Starks

Our life with it's illusion
Nothing as it seems
We look for satisfaction
In temporary things
A quest for that which pleases
Lead us to who knows where
We barely see each other
As into a box we stare

The many that surround us
We don't know their names
A stream of unknown faces
So close, so far away
We do not have a country
We do no have a tribe
Just more huddled masses
Walking side by side

These are the tears of the nations
The common sorrow we share
The great regret of our progress
The blessed burden we bear

As greed becomes a culture
We find we are removed
From things that are authentic
From that which will endure
A hero's great adventure
A quest for treasures lost
A call to something greater
A purpose for it all

These are the tears of the nations
The common sorrow we share
The great regret of our progress
The blessed burden we bear

Carry On

Written By: Music by Trammell Starks and Phillip White Lyrics by Phillip White

For those who cannot hear
For those who cannot see
For those whose hopes are clouded
For those who don't believe
For those who stand alone
Who are strong when they feel weak
I've traveled the same road
I've seen what you have seen

Carry on, carry on
I'm calling out to you
Hold on a little longer
Carry on, carry on
The night is almost over
Soon the sun will rise
Carry on

So lend me an ear
All you who dare to dream
And I'll tell you of a journey
To a place where faith remains
The road it may be hard
The travelers, they are few
But those who found their way
Are dreamers just like you

Carry on, carry on
I'm calling out to you
Hold on a little longer
Carry on, carry on
The night is almost over
Soon the sun will rise
Carry on

This Is My Song

Written By: Words and Music Phillip White Adapted from Rabindranath Tagore Poem “My Song”

This song of mine will hold you like
The gentle arms of love
My song will touch your forehead like
A kiss of blessing does
And when you are alone
By your side my song will be
To whisper in your ear
Of the sacred mystery

This is my song
The timeless melody
That makes its’ home
Within the heart of thee
The voice that awakes
You from your wandering
A hymn of love
Forever yours
This is my song

My song will carry your dreams like
A pair of angel’s wings
My song will pull your heart to
The verge of unknown things
Like a faithful star my song
Will guide you on your way
In the pupils of your eyes
To see the heart of things

This is my song
The timeless melody
That makes its’ home
Within the heart of thee
The voice that awakes
You from your wandering
A hymn of love
Forever yours
This is my song
