Lyrics

Harvest Time

Written By: Kate Northrop

Keeps creeping up slowly
And when I look it’s gone
Once I thought that it was only
A sign I’d dreamed too long
When I feel it somehow I know
That now it won’t be long
Just a matter of time and fate
Before it comes on strong

Now the fruit is on the vine
All the hard work pays off
The view was worth the climb
Watch me shine
Now it will soon be time
For making the wine
Now life is sweet and fine
See the full moon, It’s harvest time

Once felt I was only
A lark without a song
The winter was cold and lonely
And then I slept too long
Thought I could see blossoms once
And then the spring was gone
Just a matter of time before
The chick becomes the swan

Keep stretching my tether
Flying toward the sun
Thought summer would last forever
And I could have my fun
Now something is drawing me
I feel it in the air
Come back down to earth to see
The life that’s everywhere

Now the fruit is on the vine
All the hard work pays off
The view was worth the climb
Watch me shine
Now it will soon be time
For making the wine
Now life is sweet and fine
See the full moon, It’s harvest time

The Haunting

Written By: Kate Northrop

Hungry ghosts keep haunting me
With eyes like starving refugees
They try to slide into my mind
Using fear to make me blind

I see them everywhere I look
They’re in magazines and books
They’re in everything I see
Fairytales and MTV

Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
Everything I see
Is curving in on me ---
Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
And my world’s getting thin
Like a butterfly
On a pin

My best friend is wearing black
Says she won’t fall in the trap
But she can’t say how she feels
Purged it out with her last meal

She’s so beautiful and pale
As she’s squirming on the nail
Like a monument to death
Fading out with her last breath

Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
Everything I see
Is curving in on me ---
Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
And my world’s getting thin
Like a butterfly
On a pin

Chameleon

Written By: Kate Northrop/Kristi Bartleson

This chameleon won't change colors now
She's had enough of that somehow
Now she knows her eyes are green
She's satisfied with what she sees

Her worn and furrowed skin
Tells amazing tales
For those who see
It's beauty

Her camouflage falls like shedding skin
Too small for her to grow or live in
As she steps free she is astounded
By the voice that rises up in her

No longer speechless
She calls him to her
And he obeys
Her passion's ways

She's slowly changing her ways
He's slowly changing his ways
He's careful not to let his shadow fall on her
For in the light her passion moves him

The colors change around her now
At her will, to match her own avow
They blend and fuse in forms that please her
She chooses, they bend and move

Her strong determined voice
Will guide her world
And those who see
Her beauty

She's slowly changing her ways
He's slowly changing his ways
He's careful not to let his shadow fall on her
For in the light her passion moves him

Regardless

Written By: Kate Northrop

When I wake up, I hear the traffic moving
by my window, to me that sound is soothing
It reminds me that life will keep on cruising
What’s past is gone, and things move on
regardless

Once again I’ve started to remember what I need
I’d forgotten when you told me when to breathe
And I would do it
Now I’ve learned my heart can bleed
So I’ll be moving on

Now I’m waiting, my train is in the station
Take some time now, to notice the sensations
I remember what made me lose my patience
The lies we made, and why I stayed
regardless of the pain inside me

Once again I’ve started to remember what I need
I’d forgotten when you told me when to breathe
and I would do it
Now I’ve learned my heart can bleed
So I’ll be moving on

Regardless what the future brings to me, I’ll be moving on, yeah
There’s no sense in holding when it doesn’t make me strong
Regardless of the sense of loss I feel, leaving you behind, yeah
To myself I must be true

Once again I’ve started to remember what I need
I’d forgotten when you told me when to breathe
and I would do it
Now I’ve learned my heart can bleed
So I’ll be moving on

See the Light

Written By: Kate Northrop

I’m wandering in a maze of doubt
Not lost, but there’s no getting out

I’m stranded in the swamp of life
Won’t sink, but I can’t seem to thrive
Thought I was living once
But what did I know

Walking blind, no choice, no rules
We’re carrying on
Like lucky fools
Walking blind
Like lucky fools

Now I see the light
And it’s a blinding flame
Almost died of fright
I hang my head in shame

I watch it fade into the night
Until I think it’s gone
Thought when I saw it I would be all right
But all it shows me is that I’m so wrong

Working on, no skills or tools
We carry on
Like lucky fools
Working on
No skills or tools

Now I see the light
And it’s a blinding flame
Almost died of fright
I hang my head in shame

Now I see the light
It only blinds my sight
Now I seek the night
And I won’t fight it
This time

I’m wandering in a maze of doubt
Not lost, but there’s no getting out
Thought I was dreaming once
But I sold my soul

Walking blind, no choice, no rules
We’re carrying on
Like lucky fools
Walking blind
Like lucky fools

Now I see the light
Through the pouring rain
And I avert my sight
But still it calls my name

Now I see the light
It only blinds my sight
Now I seek the night
And I won’t fight it
This time

Remains

Written By: Lyrics: Kate Northrop

Find the way back to that place
Where once there was a spark
Buried deep, it's been too long
No trace of what we are

Remains of sandpaintings
Fall back into my footsteps

Turning once to touch the earth
Turn again to touch the wind
Turn again to touch the rain
but it slides through numb fingers
And falls on the ground

Hold muddy soil and gritty sand
Let the wind blow through your hands
Let the rain run down your face
I try to feel it but I can't let it in

Find your memory through the land
Turn back with halting hand
Too fast, it will all be gone
Walk the wire with your soul on your skin

Turning once to touch the earth
Turn again to touch the wind
Turn again to touch the heart
Let it in, let it in, let it in, let it in

Guilty

Written By: Lyrics by Kate Northrop, Music by Kate Northrop and Karin Sigrist

Guilty

You tore my heart
But I never told you
You broke my soul
But I never let on
I was so scared
Of your fists and your feet
You were so loud
But I wouldn't speak

I'm so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I'm guilty, I'm so guilty
And I'm free

I was so young
But now I'm older
You were so cruel
But I let you be
I sold my soul
To the angel on my shoulder
Now I've bought it back
There's a price to be free

I'm so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I'm guilty, I'm so guilty
And I'm free

You tore my heart
And now I can tell you
You broke my soul
And now I can speak
I was so scared
And I'm angry now
Now I'm so loud
With friends on my side

I'm so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I'm guilty, I'm so guilty
And I'm free

Love Song

Written By: Lyrics by Kate Northrop

I’m not an Angel
And you’re not a saint
And we are both guilty
We make our constraints
Our road is a long one
But still I would choose
To make my way with you

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way
You question your constance
You question your wealth
But I’m sure that I trust you
More than you trust yourself
And I know in my heart
There’ll be nobody else
This time I choose

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way

I’m not an Angel
And you’re not a saint
And we are both guilty
We make our constraints
Our road is a long one
But still I would choose
To make my way with you
