Got married too early
Got married too fast
Thought for sure
This love would last
After a few months
The paint began to peel
Now I see this love ain’t real
Maxed out cards, expensive clothes
Worn out lies, diamonds and gold
You watch soap operas all day
You used to have a job
But lost it along the way
You lay on the couch like a log
You made me cry
When you backed over my dog

Out with the girls
Drinking all night
Come home, quick shower
Something ain’t right
So mister, you’re looking at my wife
You need a girl to put a smile in your life
Well hold on, and just wait a minute
While I get my truck and load her in it
She’ll be the prettiest thing
Lord only knows
I’ll deliver her to you
Wrapped up in ribbons and bows

Ribbons and bows
Hair done just right
She’ll be the prettiest thing in sight
Tight fitting clothes
Perfume and shine
Ribbons and bows
Now she’s yours, not mine

Hey buddy, you’re looking for a girl
With sweet perfume and lots of curls
Well hold on, you’re in luck
She’s sleeping in the bed of my truck
Here’s some gas money
Maybe take her to Hackensack
Just take her far away
Cause she keeps coming back
She’ll be the prettiest thing
Lord only knows
I’ll deliver to you
Wrapped up in ribbons and bows

Ribbons and bows
Hair done just right
She’ll be the prettiest thing in sight
Tight fitting clothes
Perfume and shine
Ribbons and bows
Now she’s yours, not mine

Out with the girls
Drinking all night
Can’t cook worth a damn
Burned everything in sight
Easy on the eyes
A nice roll in the hay
You’ll play for now
But some day you’re gonna pay

She comes with a two day
Satisfaction guarantee
You pay the divorce fees
No returns, if you please

Chasing What I Cant Have

Written By: David Valls

Chasing what I can’t have

Finding you, I thought all my dreams had come true
A beautiful girl, a beautiful lover, and so much to discover
Warm smiles, a big heart, caring right from the start
Like a gift that just fell into my arms
I didn’t have to work hard for you, didn’t appreciate your charms
Like opening a door and you were there
After awhile, my heart didn’t care

Because I’m too busy chasing what I can’t have
Wondering if the next love is the love that will last
This restless feeling will only leave me chasing memories of my past
At this rate, my only fate will be the next heart that I break
I just don’t know how much more I can take

I can’t believe I just said my last good bye to you
You were smiling at me like you always do
I’m such a coward knowing that I will never call
Leaving you with a big, empty fall
Phone messages that are never returned
Another loving heart burned

Because I’m too busy chasing what I can’t have
Wondering if the next love is the love that will last
This restless feeling will only leave me chasing memories of my past
At this rate, my only fate will be the next heart that I break
I just don’t know how much more I can take

Now I’m going through the motions with another unsuspecting heart
Making promises that will never see the light of day
We’re having fun now, but this is only the start
Everything seems free and fun, but another heart will have to pay
Because suddenly I realize when I look into her eyes
What I had been searching for, was just behind your front door
I finally learned from my mistakes, and sorry for all the promises I break

Now I stopped chasing what I can’t have
Stopped wondering if my next love will be my last
I’m done with chasing my fate, with no more hearts left to break
That was all that I can take, going back to The love of my past

Now I show up with flowers and a big ole smile
Knowing that hearts heal after awhile
Ready with my last story, gonna tell you that I’m so sorry
And the door opens wide, just like her smile
She sees me and stares, but it’s gone after awhile
She looks down and looks away
And I know that there’s nothing I can say
That’s going to pave a way back into her life
Now that she’s become someone else’s wife

I’m left staring at her door, holding flowers and nothing more
I was wrong and made mistakes, with only my heart left to break

Maintenance Man

I work a full week with a button down shirt
And a silk cloth wrapped around my neck
Shiny black shoes, meetings, what the heck
Pushing stacks of paper and caught in the traffic crawl
And on weekends I’m driving her to the mall
Sitting on a bench, her purse beside me
Waiting for her to try on that new dress
But it’s alright by me
Getting her nails done red, high-lights in her hair
Guys walk by and shake their heads, but I don’t care
When people asks what I do
I just say I’m a maintenance man,

Chorus
Yeah, that’s what I am
From expensive dinners to buying the best shampoo
That’s what I do
Cutting the grass and pulling weeds around her castle
Her day at the spa, it’s no hassle
She’s high maintenance and that’s alright with me
Treating that woman the best, yes she’s my trophy

Because when the Queen has a good day
There’s a good chance I’ll have a good night
All that pampering unleashes the woman inside her
Those crazy nights make me wish I was ten years younger
People point fingers and giggle at me
Buying her flowers and carrying her Yorkiepoo
When people ask me what I do
I tell them I’m a maintenance man

Chorus
Yeah, that’s what I am
From expensive dinners to the best shampoo
That’s what I do
Cutting the grass and pulling weeds around her castle
Her day at the spa, it’s no hassle
She’s high maintenance and that’s alright with me
Treating that woman the best, yes she’s my trophy

Being a maintenance man is not a bad way to go
All that hard work is all I have to show
Because she’s my woman, the love of my life
Yeah she’s high maintenance, but she’s my wife.

120 pounds of trouble

I’ve got a 120 pounds of trouble on my back
It’s worse than any cancer or heart attack
She’s taking what I’ve got, only loves that mangy cat
Yes, I’ve got 120 pounds of trouble on my back.

She snuck into my life, all smiles and perfume
Making every head turn in the room
She looked like a helpless, lost, little angel
Then she turned my slice of heaven into a living hell
I was buying her this, buying her that
She ran up my charge cards and even bought that mangy cat
She jumped the clutch and drove my truck into the house
I finally had enough and told her to get out
I said when I come back from work
You need to have your bags packed along with the mangy cat
She just popped opened a beer, rolled her eyes and gave me a smirk

Get her out of my life
An end to the complaining, bickering, fuss and strife
Need a break from all of the drama
A break from that four aspirin head ache
I’ve got a 120 pounds of trouble on my back
It’s worse than any cancer or heart attack
She’s taking what I’ve got, only loves that mangy cat
Yes, I’ve got 120 pounds of trouble on my back.

All was quiet when I pulled into the drive
Gone was her car made of rust and rott
Only thing left was a big ole grease spot
I opened the door expecting to find a note on the table
There was no note, no pen and no table
A 99 cent sale
Left me nothing but the shirt on my back
An empty bottle of beer
And a present on the carpet from that mangy cat

I had a 120 pounds of trouble on my back
It was worse than any cancer or heart attack
She’s taking what I’ve got, only loved that mangy cat
Yes, I had 120 pounds of trouble on my back.

So if you can read the back of my shirt
You know that she is gone
The one thing I learned from that green-eyed little flirt
Don’t send your woman packing
Then drive off and go to work.
