Sharon Perrin aka “Miz Tasti” / Creative Director & Tiana Gist aka “Tinigi Starr”/ Creative Director & Arranger.
Los Angeles new up and coming song writers. Currently holding a catalog of over 150 beautifully displayed songs of various genres.

Having a knack for penning outstanding hits that appeal to a wide fan base, we are working hard to turn our passion into our profession. We both feel that “When creating a song, it’s definitely all about the artist’s connection with the song”. Records have to match with the artist and our approach has always been very abstract, both melodically and lyrically. We both love to write catchy verses and hooks with a more hip-hop and jazzy feel. We feel that songs are messages, energy, feelings and emotions. When good song’s come on at the right time, sometimes it help people through difficult times in their lives, like therapy and we love being apart of that. We are constantly refining our writing skills until we have recorded enough material to fill several notebooks; we know that the more songs we write, the better we’ll get.

--How did you two meet?
We met in 2002 during a Rap Showcase, we both had heard of each other but never met until then. Tinigi Starr (R&B & Jazz singer) a performing artist and writer has performed at various venues throughout the San Bernardino & Los Angeles area and Miz Tasti (Female rap artist)has performed and toured with various established artist making a name for herself not only as an artist but also as a personal manager. In 2004 we both set our minds on not just the front scene of the music industry, but now wanting the back scene of the Industry as well. Our styles of writing is different but the same, and mesh together so well that the chemistry cannot be denied!

--You own your own publishing but why the name “Tasti Publishing / BMI”?
“It’s a name that only needs to be said once, and everyone remembers it, basically it sticks”

--Who have you written for?
We used all of 2005-06 for just writing and building our catalog, so now it’s 2007 and were 400 songs strong, were just getting started to push songs out the door. So far we have writing Idea song’s for artist such as Mary J. Blidge, Faith Evans, Tony Braxton, Shania Twain, Brittney Spears, Brandy and Whitney Houston, Eryka Badu and Corrine Bailey. We’ve yet to have the pleasure of speaking with these artist managers or publishers, but we pray soon!

--Who or What inspires you both to write?
Family and life experiences.
