Biography

Sonia lives and breathes art and music. She moved to Boston in the fall 2007, when she was accepted to Berklee College of Music for Voice Performance. Leaving Austin, Texas was a hard decision for her, but.....something had to change. She needed more. She is a songwriter, composer, and engineer, loves the studio and the stage, loves folk music, and is in love with electronic music. She is currently working on promoting her solo EP: Growth Phase III. Riverman is currently being played on local stations, and sales have started coming in on iTunes.

As well as writing and performing live electronic music, Sonia is currently involved in the creation and production of a New Musical, to be set on stage by Fall '09. She is working with local playwright Tommy O'Malley, and together for a year and a half, they have been writing "It's Working: A New Musical." Composing for the stage is a totally new a fresh experience for her, and she hopes to continue down this road in the future.

And lastly, on whatever downtime she has, Sonia is also involved in the writing and creation of a New Reality TV show based around music and music production. She is working with local entertainment lawyer Jerry Neeff to get the pitch to producers and agents. She does not sleep, parties too much, and is having a ball in Boston Baby! Busy, busy, busy. But we only have one life.....right?!

Lyrics

The Build Up

Written By: Sonia Carrion

And I breathe
And I kiss
And I touch
And I suck it in
Into my skin
Into my eyes
And let it arrise
Arrouse me
Arrouse me

And I watch
And I know
That I want it to float
(Float, Float)
Around me

****
Surround me with lust
The build up excites me
Keep me in tune
Movement inside me
Turning all the time
Yearning all the time
Recycling my prime
Energy
Energy from the build up
****

So you now
Light the sparkler
Dance around
With one
In your hand
All day long
And go to sleep with it
In your stomach
Swallow it
(Swallow it, Swallow it)

****

Surprise

Written By: Sonia Carrion

Connections
In your eyes
Surprise
You have no clue
What I'm about to do
Could be very wrong
And could hurt someone
But it's all in good fun
And love it part of it
I feel a click
A faster beat
I'll tap my feet to your song

***
Wait a minute
I take it all back
And can I choose again?
Cuz I'd choose you

Reflections of your mind
On my face
At all times
It's brilliant to me
And I don't even know
Half of what I see
But what I see is good
And a little funky
With a dark side that you
Don't pretend to hide
And that's alright with me

Drip

Written By: Sonia Carrion

Watching it drip and
I'm waiting for more
Holding my head while
Hitting the floor
Dying to live when I'm
Living to die
And quitting to soon keeps
Wasting a try

Watching it drip and
I'm turning it off
And getting frustrated
Has made it all stop
Never to easy
But always too hard
When the shit hits the roof and
I've played my last card

***
I'm going nowhere
I should have gone
Taking chances
Creating advances
Saying things that
I only dream
Never flaunting but
Always wanting to be
Here

Watching it drip and
I'm wanting to scream
Cuz life is moving to slow and
I'm full force and steam
Learn to be patient
But the fire within
Is getting to hot and
It's creating my sins

This Body

Written By: S. Carrion

This Body
I feel like
I am here
For a brief second
And I have to do
As much as possible!

Oh....Oh.....Oh....
Starting Now!

A friend told me
That I am a spirit
Traveling through
This flesh
And I have to live
As much as possible!

Oh....Oh.....Oh....
Starting Now!

Riverman- Remixed

Written By: Nick Drake

Betty came by on her way
Said she had a word to say
About things today
And fallen leaves
Said she hadn't heard the news
Hadn't had the time to choose
A way to loose
But she believes

Gone to see the riverman
Gonna tell him all I can
About the plan
For lilac time
If he tells me all he knows
About the way his river flows
And all night shows
In summertime

Betty said she prayed today
For the sky to blow away
Or maybe stay
She wasn't sure
For when the thought of summer rain
Calling for her mind again
She lost the pain
And stayed for more

Gone to see the riverman
Gonna tell him all I can
About the ban
On feeling free
And if he tells me all he knows
About the way his river flows
I don't suppose
It's meant for me

The Devil Did A Number On Me

Written By: S. Carrion

The devil did a number on me
He made me cry
He made me sad
Thought I was gonna die
The devil did a number on me
He made me scared
He made me fret
Till there was nothin left
The devil, oh...

You think I'm crazy
You think I'm cold
You told your friends that the devil had a hold
On me and my mind
I was not fine
In any way
But I continued to play
In his show, I was the lead
In his show, I was the lead
Bowed to a standing ovation of pigs
Bowed to a standing ovation of pigs
Bowed to a standing ovation of pigs
Every day
And I stayed

The devil did a number on me
He made me cry
He made me sad
Thought I was gonna die
The devil did a number on me
He made me scared
He made me fret
Till there was nothin left
The devil, oh...

This makes me cringe
This makes me shame
My headstrong heart
And the depth of my pain
Had no control
Over the day
But as I cried he took me for a ride
On his back I was strapped on tight
Oh his back I was strapped on tight
Even though I had a dang good fight
Even though I had a dang good fight
Even though I had a dang good fight
He did not let go
Never once

So it's a fixture
It's an art
It left it's mark
On my soul and on my heart
Keep me moving
Keep me sane
Let me breathe
Let me run around the plain
So I can be free and bold
So I can be free and bold
So I can be free and bold
And believe the things I've been told
Believe the things I've been told
Believe the things I've been told
About you
About life
About death
About God

The devil did a number on me
He made me cry
He made me sad
Thought I was gonna die
The devil did a number on me
He made me scared
He made me fret
Till there was nothin left
Oh...

Jazz (Still Got Enough)

Written By: S. Carrion

My heart is gone
For the moment
And I want it back
My spirit stolen
From a chest
In a tricky little test
Sneaking past
My insecurities
I get by
Just barely

But I've still got enough...

Jazz in me to shake up a room
Jazz in me to shake up a room
Jazz in me to shake up a room

This dance is hard
To do
But I'll learn it anyway
You all
Teach me so well
I don't mark
The steps correctly
But oh the moments!
I have inside of me

Cuz ya know...
I've still got enough

Jazz in me to shake up a room
Jazz in me to shake up a room
Jazz in me to shake up a room

The Games

Written By: S. Carrion

Love sick
To my stomach
And I like it
Oh how I crave it
Draw me
In your mind
What do I look like?
Crazy?
No, just love sick

Come and break me
Come and shake me
Find me a new fantasy
Make it tragic
Make it magic
Even if I don't believe
Come and break me
Come and shake me
Waste me in every which way
See if I care
See if I dare
You don't know the games I can play

I give up
But my silent fight starts now
I am a warrior
When it comes to this
Lets work hard
To keep our distance strong
We'll work work real hard
Fruitless attempts
But nevertheless still I'll say

Come and break me
Come and shake me
Find me a new fantasy
Make it tragic
Make it magic
Even if I don't believe
Come and break me
Come and shake me
Waste me in every which way
See if I care
See if I dare
You don't know the games I can play

No

Written By: S. Carrion

No...
No...

I said no
You have to lay with me
One last time
Just beside me
One last time

All this mess
Then can go
All this mess
Then can go

Separately
We will create
Separately
We will grow
Separatley
I will show you.....

Love

I said no
No
No

Yea, yea yea

I said no
You have to lay with me
One last time
You have to touch me
One last time
You have to look at me

Instant Family

Written By: S. Carrion

From "It's Working: A New Musical"

A family grows
Inside me
I am the key player
The lead in the show
You don't even know
My role yet

We've got a situation
A life to deal with
That is neither yours nor mine
So look me in the eyes
When I say this to you
How do I know when this is right?

But you alone
And me alone
Makes no sense
And us together
Is not what I see
It's too late
We are a family now

Just like that
It happened so naturally
Is this how it's supposed to be
Raison de etre?
Selfishness sits
On my mind now
Wrestles with creation
With life

But you and I
We are meant to be, right?
I need convincing
I need a fight from you
This pull towards togetherness
This feeling of helplessness
This love of endlessness
Is now in site

But you alone
And me alone
Makes no sense
And us together
Is not what I see
It's too late
We are a family now
