Biography

Sonia Eidse is a singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Canada. Making reflective alt-pop, her delicate voice and melancholic sound create a subtle mystique, stirring the heartstrings of its listeners.
Beginning her vocal training as a young child and continuing throughout her teens, Eidse developed a love for classic love ballads, citing The Carpenters, Roberta Flack and Ella Fitzgerald as her key influences. Having also a passion for writing, she kept a journal of musings and poetry, later turning them into songs after learning the guitar at 16.
In 2010, the young Métis earned herself a spot in AMP Camp, a weeklong music retreat for Indigenous musicians from across Canada. The experience opened up a world for Eidse, playing a pivotal role in her pursuit in music. Reserved and shy in nature, Eidse continued to push herself outside of her bubble. In 2012, she self-produced her first EP Acoustic Vol 1 & 2,  giving away copies at local gigs.
After taking a hiatus to become a new mother, the songstress returned to the music scene in November of 2016, releasing her self-titled EP, a set of four warm, ethereal tracks.

“Dreamy. with each note stretched as far as possible, Eidse’s vocal performance lands like a silk parachute, or a slow-rolling fog.” - Audiofemme, 2017

Eidse is now in the midst of producing her debut album with Dana Matyas, set for release next year.

Lyrics

One Kiss

Written By: Sonia Eidse

Verse:
I want you just like I remember you
Don’t say too much, just look me in the eyes
And hold me tight and let me go

Verse:
I want you when I’m alone
And my thoughts are all my own
Come see me for a moment
Just pass through

Chorus:
Cuz I know we don’t get along
And we will never sing the same song
And my jealousy takes over me till I cannot see so
Stay but don’t stay too long

Verse:
One kiss will do the trick
It’s no cure but it will treat it
And I’ll stay loving you
Without hurting too

Chorus:
Cuz I know we don’t get along
And we will never sing the same song
And my jealousy takes over me till I cannot see so
Stay but don’t stay too long
Stay but don’t stay too long
Stay but don’t stay too long
