Sonic Avenues were born in a messy and moldy Montreal basement in 2006 out of the combination of sheer boredom and discontent with the rising popular scene at the time. Over the years the quartet has paved their own path, working on writing, recording and producing their own songs and albums. Despite the very insular approach of their production style, Sonic Avenues were always eager to hit the road and expose their material. Over the last three years only, the band toured Europe on two occasions, played many shows in the USA and in Canada (including two west coast tours, a performance at SXSW in 2012 and two subsequent gigs at The Fest in 2012 and 2013).
With two full lenght records under their belts, Sonic Avenues have just finished crafting their third album - 'Mistakes' - to be released on Dirtnap Records (Marked Men, Radioactivity, Bad Sports, Exploding Hearts, Mean Jeans, etc) in the coming months. Official release date to be confirmed very soon.
2014 touring plans include dates in more than 7 European countries, in Japan, in Russia, in the US and in Canada.
