"Local Band Big Hit on LA Radio"

Local prog-rock band Sonique Sanctuary has featured on an LA-based online radio station, with the Island enjoying some unexpected promotion as a result.

The station, MuseBoat, plays songs from bands worldwide each week, with one acts country of origin also highlighted.

After Sonique Sanctuarys track Anomaly was played to thousands of listeners, show host TJ gave a five-minute rundown of Bermudas natural beauty, fascinating history and some of the Islands quirkier laws.

I wasnt expecting it at all because there were a bunch of bands from all over the world on the show, said lead singer Tracey Lynne Harney.

Then the host started talking about Bermuda.

She mentioned stuff I didnt even know, like swearing [offensive words] being illegal.

She talked about our whole history, how we were founded and why it is called the Devils Isle. She mentioned the unique laws and how pristine it is here.

She must have done some research: she really made us look good and helped put us on the map.

Host TJ said she enjoyed Sonique Sanctuary because the band broke the mould and decided to be more progressive.

They put their heart and soul into their music, she added. Whats not to like? TJ told The Royal Gazette she would now like to visit the Island.

When I saw we had a [band] from Bermuda, I thought it would be a great time to research the Island, TJ said.

I have never been to Bermuda but, after researching, I would love to visit. The Island is looking out over the reefs and a peek at the rich and famous sounds so enticing.

Sonique Sanctuarys Anomaly is the first song on their debut album, and was featured on TJs show on MuseBoat last Sunday. - Royal Gazette

"Ravenheart Music Review Sonique Sanctuary EP"

SONIQUE SANCTURY...'RESILIENCE' EP

(Self Release) Reviewed 16th January 2015

It is not very often we get music from Bermuda, in-fact this release will be the very first one I believe :) The band was started in 2011 by drummer Nick Wadson and guitarist Ace Cepeda as an instrumental band, to display a high level of musical technical proficiency. Then singer Dr. Tracey Lynne Harney came into the equation and Sonique Sanctury entered a new gear. The band with this EP throw at the listener five tracks of very well done Progressive Rock - deep and dark music in-fact that relates to human experiences. Dr. Harney likes to call it "concious rock" and maybe she is right. All the tracks here are technically perfect with a spoken intro to each track from Tracey Lynne, there is great musicianship throughout from the band, this is Progressive Rockers heaven! The final track which so happens to be the title track to this EP is possibly the most commercial number here, but they are all good. Tracey Lynne's vocals are strong and powerful and really drive this music along together with the band. This is worth looking into if you feel this music is up your alleyway, cos it should be. So show some resilience and check the band at their website: www.bermudaguitar.wix.com/soniquesanctuary. And furthermore, a full length album is in the pipeline.. 8.75/10 (The Nugget) - Ravenheart

Bio

Started in 2010 a collaboration between Ace Cepeda and Nick Wadson who have an interest in progressive rock ( Dream Theater, Rush, Yes ) and pushing their individual talents to the max. Sonique Sanctuary did their first debut show on Sept. 2010. Starting out playing guitar oriented instrumentals along the lines of Satriani, Vai, Petrucci, Eric Johnson etc. had its limits so upon finding singer/lyricist Tracey Lynne the repertoire opened up to a wider audience. Sonique Sanctuary released their debut EP Resilience in July 2014 and has received positive press reviews. A second, full length album is in the works. Stay tuned...
