Bio

I already sent my demo over to reach records this summer, and I was dissapointed that I wasn't signed. But I'm a mature kid, and I know that although it was my will to rap with the first christian artists I listened to, God-willing I belong with Cross Movement. Honestly I was unaware of this recording label, because I although I've been a Christian, I 'just' started listening to Christian hip-hop. I always liked the clean, deep artists like Nas and Lupe Fiasco. They influenced me to simply become a rapper, but God instilled in me the need to represent Him. There's a little more info. about myself below if you have time.

First of all, I have to let you know how blessed I am that you’re able to read this right now. I am a sixteen year old Soldier of Christ. My mission, my purpose, my goal in life is to bring all glory to God. He was always in my life, but my relationship was taken to another level when I discovered the importance of evangelism.

I was about 10yrs old when an elder in my church told me I would become a pastor. I laughed. She told me that was the same reaction her son (a present pastor) gave her when she claimed that on him. I have been given opportunities to speak in my church, which I took advantage of. Every Youth Sunday I am asked to speak, and every time I leave the podium, I am blessed with smiles and change. The gratefulness and sincere encouragement of the congregation has led me on a new pursuit. I really want to change my world. The youth that surrounds me gives me disgust when I see my peers make some foolish choices. Since I was 12 I wrote poetry, but I never intended to become a rapper. I have realized that ‘music’ is one of the strongest forces and influences on today’s youth. So at fifteen, I started writing poetry over instrumentals. I contemplated for about 3 months if rapping was for me. Until one day at school, I stood in front of my first multitude (lol) and rapped, then gave a message afterwards. I’ve never felt so fulfilled…From that day, my priorities in life ‘drastically’ changed for the better.

I go by the name of sOnRebulSoulja …I always had a weird, but deep brain, and this name explains a lot if thought about. It is inspired by the child soldiers who fight wars on the eastern side of the globe. In almost every way imaginable, I relate my life to them. I believe in spiritual warfare. This war we “souljas” fight every day, is a mission given by The General. When I am “equipped” with His; I feel as if I could stand up to anything. I would love to elaborate rather in person. ;) Below is one of the main verses I base my character or theme on:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

I am not looking for the fancy lifestyle of the traditional rappers; I just want to get His word out which He’s given me. I don’t have the resources or promotional skills to share my music. I live in the Bahamas, and I just want to be on the “good side” of the hip-hop game; instead of blending with the traditional rappers and getting caught by the world. Please respond or send feedback; I’m still working on my patience, but I am a persistent kid.
I was initially going to sprout out the gangster hip-hop scene to sneak God’s word in; but then I realized that the movement isn’t for me or the people. It’s for God. I just want to serve as inspiration and an example or offspring of Christian hip-hop. But ultimately all bring glory to Him. I feel that it is my call of duty to rap and live for Christ. Thanks in advance for just the opportunity to share the words or music that God amplified through my mouth. God Bless! Thank you! And God-speed! And God-willing I'll see you soon. ;)
