"Sons of the Southside with Clint Farley"

The Sons of the Southside are a definitive bar band that seems ready to break out of bars onto much bigger stages. After a couple of years of local gigging, the band won January’s qualifying round of the Square Room’s Sound Off competition with a bruising, slightly menacing set of beefy Southern arena rock that steamrolled questions of taste and fashion; the classic-rock quartet (Jeremy Brading, Brandon Thomas, Tim Bourke, and Kory Robinson) proved that big riffs and songs about beer, sex, and fighting never go out of style. (Just like beer, sex, and fighting themselves.) The band’s fans already knew that, and it’s time for the rest of Knoxville’s music scene to find out. Check out the band’s music clips online, but those recordings won’t prepare you for the stadium-sized jolt of old-fashioned rock ’n’ roll the Sons deliver in person.
