The group of ten is made up of musicians, dancers and singers from counties Donegal, Derry and Tyrone. Drawing on the influence of both their Irish and Scottish backgrounds and blending that with contemporary playing styles and arrangements in a way you won`t have heard before! Sontas have created a sound and visual spectacle that is both technically impressive and hugely entertaining.
Having only formed in February 2012, the group of have quickly set about establishing themselves in the Irish and Northern Irish music scenes, bringing their fresh brand of trad to new audiences.
With performances in Belfast City Hall, being selected as a main-stage act for the Olympic Torch Relay and the International Clipper Race Festival already under their belts you could say 2012 has been a good starting point for the group.
