The best kept secret in music

This self-described "Rasta Metal" band has been fusing metal, reggae and tribal rhythms with jam band sensibilities into a bizarre musical gumbo for years. Their current configuration features Josh Rich whose father founded the original incarnation over twenty years ago. A Finalist in the 2003 Benchmark Records Battle of the Bands, "Sonus V." can be counted on to leave a healthy crowd of moshing hippies in their wake. - Nuvo Magazine, Aug. 11, 2004
You can't really call Sonus Ventorium a metal band. Nor can you call them a jam band. Or a funk band. Or even a reggae band.....You'd be best off calling them a rock and roll band and leave it at that....The group not only is one of the most senior acts in the city, but also one of the most respected. With their new CD, Sonus is looking to take their career to the next level, which they plan to shop around in hopes of finding an appropriate label. One of the problems with that, however, is that because their sound crosses so many boundaries, it's hard to make the band fit a specific niche. - Nuvo Magazine, March 30,2005
