Bio

At 18 years of age, Sophie Joy Madison wrote, recorded and released her first album. An independent recording, “Coming Home” was co-produced by Duane Orriss at Sky Studios, in Perth, 2010. Featuring 10 original songs, the album was made possible with the amazing talent of some local artists, including her father, Nigel, and sister, Melody.

Sophie was born in Perth WA, grew up in Busselton (south of Perth) and spent three years in Brisbane while her parents studied. Her family being very musical, inspired Sophie to sing from the day she could talk and start playing guitar at age 15. She has performed in many different settings throughout her life, from schools, to pubs and bars, to churches and weddings.
Sophie began the journey of writing a song a day for 3 months in mid 2010, a year after graduating from high school. The experiences of her whole life and some tough situations she faced, gave her the context to write songs that are rich and pure and honest. Sophie has been driven by the realisation that music was not just a pastime but something she was made to do, and after putting aside university opportunities is pursuing her music career full time.
Now, age 19, Sophie continues to write and tour throughout Australia. She hopes to share her love and passion to sing not to the ears but to the soul...
