Biography

When you hear Sophya Grace sing, your ears are treated to a sound that is the rave in European night clubs, mixed with the soulful sensibility found in contemporary R&B that emerges from suburban New York. Her style, a unique blend of R&B and Pop, easily finds its way into the hearts of her fans. With so many artists emerging on today’s musical scene, what is it that makes this prodigiously talented singer different? Many would say it is that in addition to being a world class performer, she writes with aplomb, garnering the attention and employment by such notable producers /Dj’s such as DJ Dirty Harry(Producer of “No One “-Alicia Keys), DJ Obsession(producer of “You”-Wayne Wonder), Italian DJ Jad from the duo “Articolo 31” and artists such as Luquantumleap (from the Krucial Keyz team) and Polo- from “La Famiglia” who also hails from Italy as well as others. Even more, Sophya is also a ghostwriter for established major artists. Born and raised in Italy, Sophya at the age of four showed a talent for music as she excelled as a classically trained Pianist. By the time she was nine, she started writing her own material, and was often found spending her time indoors, with her ear stuck to the radio, listening to everything she could find on local R&B music radio stations. From this she deepened her love for R&B, which led her to join an Hip-Hop group from Africa at the age of fourteen. It wasn’t long before she had her initial exposure to recording her skills at top Italian recording studios, where she expanded her knowledge of writing, recording and production. To this day, Sophya remains one of the most kind and professional Artists to grace the industry. In 2003, Sophya took her talent to the Umbria Jazz Festival, where in a competition she won a scholarship to a top U.S. Music School. Then, in hot pursuit of advancing her career, she relocated to New York City, where she presently resides and is making believers every time she hits the stage and studio. It’s so easy to speak greatly of such a talented Artist like Sophya Grace. The 1960’s brought us voices like Diana Ross and Dionne Warwick. The 1970’s had us immersed in Chaka Khan and Roberta Flack. The 1980’s brought us Anita Baker and Patti LaBelle. The 1990’s raised the bar with voices like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and in the new millennium, don’t be surprised to see and hear Sophya Grace along side voices like Alicia Keys, Beyonce Knowles and Christina Aguilera! More than just talk, Sophya truly delivers. See her. Catch her if you can. Her blessed talent will not have her standing still, and because of her international appeal, she is bound to become one of those rare voices that people the world over recognize and love.
