Soquelle is an electronica duo based out of Santa Cruz California, comprised of Anastasia Gera (vocals, songwriting) & Mark Shvartsman (synthesizers, drum machines, saxophone, guitar). Soquelle’s sound is a luxurious blend of lounge & smooth vocals combined with hip-hop beats & electronica elements. Their live shows contain self directed cinematic/glitch visuals with a futuristic art installation to create a surrealistic one-of-a-kind experience.
Their debut album was completed in Spring, 2014 produced by Soquelle & Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Deltron3030, Dr. Octagon). Scheduled release for Fall, 2014. Appeals to fans of Sade, Massive Attack, Portishead & DJ Shadow.
Soquelle’s Anastasia Gera acted in two music videos for legendary guitarist James Williamson of Iggy & the Stooges, released for James’ new singles in April 2014. The videos were directed by Soquelle’s Mark Shvartsman. One of the videos was featured on Rolling Stones.
