SoSoon

On one hand, the Sound Of Something Out Of Nothing aka SoSoon takes pride in being a New York emcee, but on the other hand is not at all prideful. SoSoon is well aware that once revered New York Hip Hop scene is now merely a feint blur in the eyes and ears of the industry power brokers. However, SoSoon is not bitter, nor concerned with these thoughts. He is convinced that his captivating song writing combined with diverse subject matter will more than please his listeners while shaking things up for fellow New York emcees and Hip Hop music on a whole scale.

The sound of SoSoon has some striking similarities to the legendary emcee Ricky D. Like Slick Rick, SoSoon focuses on verbal visuals to display an eagle eyes view of not only what he calls the “New Nieu Yorke,” but metropolitan cities all over the world. His attention to fine detail combined with his ability to educate and entertain (both in a separate and collective fashion) has caused SoSoon to proclaim himself “the Spike Lee of Hip Hop.”

2010 has brought SoSoon some notable accomplishments including winner up in the semi finals round of the Hip Hop Unplugged showcase as well as 3rd place in the Grind Mobb Underground Movers showcase. In addition, SoSoon opened up for 2 Hungry Brothers’ “No Room for Dessert” album release party as well as featured for internationally known poet Ainsley Burrows’ “Super Hero’s and Rockstars” showcase, and sports journalist Michael Geffner’s “Inspired Word” poetry series. SoSoon has also established his presence online including features on iheartdilla.com, College Club King’s own DJ Sparkx’ blog, and two Coast to Coast mixtape appearances.

The crown jewel of SoSoon’s year has by far been the October release of his 1st solo album The Bandwagon.....Director’s cut-a 13 track display of lyricalism, community awareness, romance, and smooth lounge sounds which collectively are sure to garner a larger fan base and some necessary buzz. With immediate plans to take his album on a mini promo tour, SoSoon is ready to flood the “Bandwagon” with listeners, eager for a familiar yet slightly different sound.
