Bio

Blending 80's influences like Depeche Mode and New Order with pumping, high energy dance tracks, LA-based duo Story of the Running Wolf has staked its claim at the crossroads of Retro and Future, delivering an experience that has been described as “an intergalactic John Hughes party on Neptune.” Dance-beat fueled optimism and sparkling synth riffs are tempered by an undercurrent of lyrical tension that is not without hope, but struggles for something just out of reach.

The band’s 2013 single "Stratospheric" gained traction across the blogosphere with its accompanying epic music video which pays homage to cult-classics like The NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth.  The video, starring Stephanie Allynne and produced by Hardy Howl Films, made its way in front of glam-pop star Adam Lambert, who after seeing it invited the band to perform a private party in Hollywood.

With performances at CMJ, SXSW, TBD Fest, Lightning in a Bottle and Palm Springs Pride under their belt, as well as a SoCal tour with Goldroom and opening for Capital Cities at a sold-out show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, the band headed into the studio with producer Harlan Silverman (Mayer Hawthorne, Madi Diaz) in 2014 to work on their brand new Electric EP, set for a Sept. 2015 release.
