Soul Collision is quickly moving up the ranks as a blues force to be reckoned with in the region. Their 2nd Place finish in the Solo/Duo category of the Battle of the Blues Bands, which is sponsored by the Magic City Blues Society, proves that. Damn Good Blues!

Soul Collision is a Birmingham, Alabama based blues duo that plays soulful acoustic blues.
The members of the band include Greg Franklin and Mark Taylor. Greg “Big Papa” Franklin is a lead vocalist with a soulful voice reminiscent of the great Gregg Allman, Wilson Pickett, and Muddy Waters. ”Big Papa” plays a smokin’ blues harp, with an occasional rhythm guitar. Mark Taylor is a lead guitarist with undeniable talent and abilities reminiscent of the greats of the southern rock era with roots firmly planted in the blues of the delta.
Soul Collision recently opened for nationally known recording artist Kent Burnside and the New Generation at Gip’s and really had the crowd hoppin’. They have also opened for Alabama Blues Machine, formerly Po’ Monkey, and Todd Simpson & Mojo Child. The two have been performing together for years and have had many appearances, including local spots like Matthew’s, All-Star’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Burly Earls, Java & Jams, B.B.’s Blues House, Costa’s BBQ and many others. Soul Collision is a very active performing member of the Magic City Blues Society and placed 2nd in the 2008 MCBS Battle of the Blues Bands.
Soul Collision has a very unique sound and feel and has a steadily growing fan base that can fill most small clubs. If you are looking for a small band with big talent, look no more.
