Biography

Soulfire is Aberdeen's coolest new blues rock band, featuring Sarah Roberts (vocals), Lee Sangster (guitar), Chris Cameron (bass) and Paul Barclay (drums). Born and bred in Aberdeen, each band member has honed their talent in the city's music scene and came together in early 2010 to form a vibrant new band, writing and performing original material.

Aberdeen music fans may have seen Sarah and Lee... performing acoustic sets at The Blue Lamp, Shelley Leigh's and The Tunnels as 'Soulfire Light' and might have seen Soulfire performing in 2011 at local venues such as the Lemon Tree and Drummonds. They might already know Chris from Maelstorm and Paul from The Tijuana Sun.

Soulfire formed when Paul and Lee, best friends and jamming partners for years, decided to get serious about their music.
The lads were agreed that what they needed to set the band apart was a strong female vocal. By chance, Lee came across Sarah's advert in R&B Music and one phone call, one beer and one jam session later, Soulfire was born.

The band's influences are many and diverse; from The Small Faces to Nina Simone, PP Arnold to The Black Crowes and Sly and The Family Stone to The Smiths.
