Soul HitchHiker, led by singer/songwriter Karan Andrea, is a Buffalo, New York-based band fueled by the roots of Memphis soul, country and blues rock. Originally from Kentucky, Andrea migrated
to Western New York, bringing with her the raw sensibility born of Southern roots music. A self-proclaimed “prisoner of Rock & Roll”, Andrea is not afraid to combine sweet melody with rough edges in her songs. The approach of Soul HitchHiker is simple – create a vibe by delivering good music that inspires and moves the audience physically
and emotionally.
With a focus on the power of salvation that music holds, Soul HitchHiker digs deep to present a gritty, yet vulnerable blend of roots, R&B, rock, gospel, blues, country and bluegrass. The characters in Andrea’s songs are real people – survivors of tough loves and tough lives. Backed by a tight, four-piece rhythm section, Karan Andrea leads the listener on a musical journey that examines the way we relate, the events that change our lives, and the relationships between us and the world around us.
