Objectives
“Soulja Boy Tell Em” or simply “Soulja Boy” was born DeAndre Ramone Way on July 25, 1990 in Chicago, IL. The Atlanta, GA based Hip -Hop Recording Artist, Producer and Actor gained world renowned fame from his 2007 hit single “Crank Dat (Soulja Boy).” In September 2007, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" reached number #1 on the Billboard top 100 Charts. This single was initially self-published on the Internet and it became a number-one hit in the United States for seven non-consecutive weeks starting in September of 2007. Soulja Boy’s style has been often compared to several other teen rappers such as Lil Bow Wow or Lil Romeo, however his swag and flair is all his own and to date is currently unmatched. Before Way reached the age of 18, his music music was being played across the planet. Soulja Boy Tell Em was already an ambitious artist and a seasoned businessman, wielding all the hit making requirements: producer, live entertainer, and an ability to write catchy hooks. Way moved from the Windy City down to Atlanta when he was six years old, but then went to lived with his father in Batesville, MS, at age 14.
In Mississippi, the young entertainer found all the various connections to seriously pursue a musical career, including the aid of his father, who provided a recording studio. After the success of spreading his music through the Internet in 2004 and establishing his Stacks on Deck Entertainment label, he moved back to Atlanta to pursue industry leads and to get his feet wet doing live performances. Shortly thereafter, he was discovered by Atlanta producer Mr. Collipark (Ying Yang Twins, Bubba Sparxxx, Young Jeezy), who helped launch Soulja Boy Tell Em from a local sensation to a national mover and shaker -- and it was all largely due to his success on the Internet. Soulja Boy's MySpace and Youtube pages broke the site's records and generated millions of views.
Affiliated with Interscope via Collipark's Collipark Music imprint, Soulja Boy Tell Em gradually rose to number one on the pop charts with his snap-dance hit single "Crank Dat (Soulja Boy). By the end of the year the track landed on his debut album, Souljaboytellem.com. His unique propensity for meshing dance tracks with catchy hooks driving melodies around social and teen themed issues will make writers and editors in newspapers, magazines, and fanzines stand up a take notice of this remarkable young man. Soulja Boy will be made available to the print media and select radio stations for interviews, in conjunction with his touring schedule.
The publicity campaign will support any and all promotion and marketing plans from, and monitor all Soulja Boy activities in radio and retail, as well as closely track attendance at live shows, to take full advantage of any developing newsworthy events that may develop.
