What current rapper can boast of artists such as DJ Premier, MOP, Talib Kweli, Ghostface Killah, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Onyx, Das EFX, IAM, Kery James and Medine as guests on his album?
It is none other than SOULKAST who has managed this impressive feat.
Armed with incisive lyrics and a powerful flow, SOULKAST is now among the greats. At 33 years old, he takes us back to the heyday of hip-hop and its roots of "Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun." And on this album, these ideals are exactly what he wanted to use. And as for "having fun", he goes even further than most. The first single from the album is produced by DJ PREMIER himself. The most sought after producer in NYC welcomed SOULKAST to his studio, laid him down a tailor-made beat, and even added scratches to the first salvo. This was a collaboration marked by complicity, as is visible through the images of the Koria-directed video, at the heart of the birthplace of Hip-Hop: New York.
