Soulkuljah

Soulkuljah began as friends and family jamming at small gatherings and in garages around spanaway, Washington. Upon establishing themselves as a "band" they created the name Soul Kuljah. The name originates from a collection of genres the band plays, and a spinoff of the word and meaning, culture. Soul coming from a deep background in soul/R&B music, and Kuljah collectively using the bands polynesian/pacific island ethnicity, and their roots in reggae music and deep religious ties thru the word "Jah" which is rastafarian for God.Within the first year soulkuljah played in several local venues from Bellingham to Tacoma, Washington. They opened for artists like Spawnbreezie, Alo Key, and J Boog. They also played events such as private luaus and headlined several local bar shows. We've continually added to our unique sound adding more and more elements of music to single songs and set lists. With a wide array of influences from Bob Marley, Maroon 5, Usher, and Journey we feel our sound to be fresh and something that can take us out of the local scene, and into the rest of the music world.
