Lyrics

Are You Ready

Written By: Daniel David Johnson

Are you ready to dry up your tears?
Are you ready? Say goodbye to your fears.
Rev it up, shifting gears.
Higher and higher ‘til morning appears.

Are you ready to come out and play?
Are you ready to seize a brand new day?
Live it up, don’t delay
Magic and mystery and more on the way.

Now my friend, now is the time for beginning
Choose again, releasing the need to know exactly how it will go.

I’m ready to make a new start
Creating my world is a work of art
Make it up, play a part
Stars on my ceiling and joy in my heart

Now my friend, now is the time for beginning
Choose again, releasing the need to know exactly how it will go.

I’m ready to make a new start
Creating my world is a work of art
Shake it up, break apart
Stars on my ceiling and joy
I said stars on my ceiling and joy
Stars on my ceiling and joy in my heart, in my heart.

Are you ready, tell me baby, tell me are you ready now?
Are you ready, tell me baby, tell me are you ready now?
Are you ready, tell me baby, tell me are you ready now?
Are you ready, tell me baby, tell me are you ready now?

Spirit Speak To Me

Written By: Daniel David Johnson/Erin Johnson/Susan Stentz

Spirit, speak to me, I’m quiet.
All of me hears all of you.
Thank you for my inner calling.
I am listening.

Spirit, come to me, I’m open.
All of me feels all of you
Thank you for my change of heart.
I am grateful.

All of my days, I’ve been hungry for guidance,
Asking what is mine to do.
If only I’d known to sit in the silence
And open my heart to you.
Spirit speak to me.

Spirit breathe into my heart
I’m connected to your love
Thank you for my inspiration,
I am breathing
Thank you for my understanding,
I am knowing.
Thank you for my bounty,
I am timeless. I am whole.

A World at Peace

Written By: Daniel David Johnson

I see a world at peace, not a world in pieces,
Not a soul in need do I see.
A garden of green, a joy that never ceases,
I see a world at peace.

I see us all as one, undivided,
Many voices joined in a single song.
An anthem of hope, and we are reunited,
I see us all as one.

Peace in my heart and in yours,
A little peace within our family.
That's where it starts, opening doors,
Trading clashes for overtures.
So stand with me and say…

I see a world at peace, not a world in pieces,
Not a soul in need do I see.
A garden of green, a joy that never ceases,
I see a world at peace.

Set List

Soulpajamas frequently plays 60, 90 and 120 minute concerts. Conversely, there are situations in which Soulpajamas plays 4 songs or even less, as part of a workshop, conference, retreat, church service, ordination, wedding, house blessing, memorial service, etc.

In addition to the usual concerts and coffeehouses, Soulpajamas has performed in some unusual venues: a planetarium, an organic grocery store, in the median strip of a major city thoroughfare during morning rush hour and at a rest stop for a benefit walk.

A typical set list depends on the venue. Where the audience is mostly fans, they play mostly original songs. Out of town when there is more of a mix of fans and potential fans, they throw in some favorite covers, by artists like Tuck and Patty, Joni Mitchell, Jana Stanfield, Horace Silver, Van Morrison, James Taylor, etc.

Originals include:

All Is Well - - a lullaby for grown-ups
Are You Ready - - jazz waltz
A World At Peace - - a bossa nova vision of
