Biography

Soul Shakers’ first mix tape ‘Some Bass Pon Your Face’ is the meaningful title of a border-crossing musical journey that will make the Big Bang sound like a faint knock on the door . The energy released on this album is bound to make you move. The key? An exhilarating mix of party breaks, old school hip hop, reggae remixes and phat dancehall, combined with the explosiveness of kuduro, bailefunk & baltimore beats. Each of these styles will make you beg for more. Things get more crazy live when the MCs come in to play. ‘Blazin energy’! And that’s the way it sounds too. Their style can be compared to such legends as South Rakkas Crew, Buraka Som Sistema, J-Star, Major Lazer and Pow Pow Movement.
Performing at numerous parties and events where they put the whole scene on fire, these guys have shown that the formula works. They drew the crowd into the tent at Pukema Rock festival, deejayed in between the live acts at Mano Mundo, kept the fire burning during their own set at Studay and have put a vibrant end to Simmerdown festival the last few years. Previously they shared decks with Ed&Kim, Merdan Taplak, Freres Deluxe, Dr Lektroluv, Turntable Dubbers, Laston&Geo, to name just a few.
