A double-take on what is to be expected, the band in its core plays with the curious, the suspicious, the mysterious... Basically everything shady they can musically achieve.
What they dubbed "rock inquiétant" is characterized by consistent yet unconventional time signature compositions, astounding tempo shifts along with fretboard tapping and slapping techniques mixed with propane tank percussions.
Picture a secret agent caught in the schemes of a twisted evil scientist, in a world where dinosaurs would build insect robots.
Rather than falling into the math-rock niche, Sound Asleep is mostly recognized for appealing to one of the most variegated crowd in Montreal, thanks to their frequent switching between metal blastbeats to jazzy funky grooves and back again to a hardcore breakdown all in the same song.
