Sound of Mountains

The Sound of Mountains story comes simple. The group is comprised of four childhood friends. The binding force is Joseph, the song writer of the band. Mostly quiet and observant, he projects his thoughts and purpose to every song. Always insightful, each piece is an expression of thought, provoked by questions and emotions encountered in everyday experiences. Joseph has worked with several different groups to find the right combination of people to form the Sound of Mountains. Like pieces in a puzzle that fit together, this eclectic group of childhood chums has the right mix to transform Joseph's visions in to a living soul. Their fresh on stage sound is produced by, Joseph on guitar and vocals. Mark W. on bass guitar, Matt S. on drums/percussion and Jerry H. on guitar and backing vocals. They consider themselves an Indie band. Their music has a type of Folk Rock and British Pop influence that is original and energetic. They fit nicely with such bands as My Morning Jacket, Ryan Adams, Radiohead and the Flaming Lips. Those of you fellow music lovers who appreciate such bands as, Pearl Jam, The Grateful Dead, Coldplay, Shout Out Louds, David Bowie, and the Beatles. The name "Sound of Mountains" comes from the idea of taking Thoughts and making them bigger in your mind and expanding them into size of mountains. Whether inspired by family, work or personal relationships Joseph transforms his thoughts and interpretations into songs that tell stories anyone and everyone can relate to.
