"Sirens calling"

Sound of the Sirens are three young ladies from Exeter. Deserving winners of their home city's prestigious Battle of the Bands competition, the trio combine agile guitar-playing, soaring three-part harmonies and lyrical, heartfelt songwriting to make lushly melodic music.

Their music contains elements of folk, country and soul, and should please fans of KT Tunstall, Stealing Sheep and nu-folk artists like Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons. Emotional without being mawkish, SOund of the Sirens evoke introspective walks in the countryside and romantic riverside dreams, and as great as their individual voices are, when they harmonise you may well feel a chill up your spine. As comfortable with well-chosen covers like Elbow's "One Day Like This" as they are with their own compositions, they are already developing a reputation as an excellent live act, so keep an eye out! - Electric Harmony

Bio

3 girls, 2 guitars, 1 stomp box....
Formed just over 2 years ago, Sound of The Sirens is a tale of serendipity, friendship and talent. Abbe, Lisa , friends from school, met Hannah met while working in a night club and immediately formed a drinking club! Singing their way home after a night’s work/drinking, they realised that they had a unique blend of voices and naturally harmonised with each other.

Sound of The Sirens began by putting their own twist on artists as diverse as Fall Out Boy, The Beatles, Christina, Coldplay and Muse before writing their own material. Memorable melodies, intricate arrangements and complex harmonies permeate all of their material.

Now gigging regularly throughout the UK at festivals and music venues, the Sirens are quickly gaining a reputation as a band to watch. Their natural ability, enthusiasm and close friendship redefines the genre ‘girl band’.
With influences as different as Joni Mitchell and Hanson, Gloria Estefan and Mumford and Sons, Take That and Laura Marling, their music appeals to a wide audience - there's no-one like them!
