Bio

On September 1st, 2003, Soundreal Entertainment announced an upcoming release of the full length LP, 'The One'. Soundreal's unique collaboration blends musical styles from the world over making it difficult to classify into any preconceived genre.

The richness of sounds in 'The One' should come as no surprise to those familiar with Soundreal, as founder, Isaac Horton has an unusually diverse musical history. Beginning as a child, Isaac had a passion to be a musician. His curious spirit drew him early on into the complex world of 'Cuban/Haitian' drumming. "Its impossible to explain how much i learned about music from the drum. It was the key to my understanding of music" explains Horton. "There's nothing that can compare to the feeling you get when you follow your heart, and succeed as an artist." Isaac says.

Isaac Horton grew up in Morro Bay, California where he continues to live and work today. He grew up listening to his parents music which included Bob Dylan, Santana and also jazz records like Modern Jazz Quartet, Dizzie Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver and many more which in turn became major influences on him. "Song for my Father and Canteloupe Island were huge influences on me. I was amazed by the fact that you could really discover the early funk sound in jazz and I would get so excited just to find a great new song from the past." explains Horton. "I always wanted to bring that kind of originality and timelessness to this project."
