SOUNDUP DEBUT CONCERT
The a cappella group SoundUp will be debuting it's new 6 man group with the addition of Steve Miller on tenor this December 31, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. As a part of Akron's traditional "First Night" celebration, SoundUp will be performing three 45-minute sets of their music at the Polski in downtown Akron. Sound Up is an a cappella quintet from the city of Akron, Ohio. Mixing together the styles of R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Pop into a cappella singing, they write, record, and perform their own original music and arrangements. All members hail from the fabulous music program at Firestone High School, where their career started in 2004 as a septet called "Seven Stacked". They immediately received accolades from competitons and festival, working with groups such as the New York Voices and M-Pact. Since their beginning, the group has molded into the five-man, all original group that makes up "SoundUp". With a new sound and completely new music, the newly named "Sound Up" is a fresh blend of a wide mix of style, musicality and personality.
