Bio

This multi-talented band of musicians, producers, composers and a DJ was officially formed the summer of 2012; however the group has had much history playing and touring together prior to the drummer/DJ/founder Carlin "The Docta" Brown forming the ensemble.

A close knit bond on and off the stage is inevitable with the band as it consists of a set of cousins and a pair of brothers who grew up playing together in their respective churches and the gospel circuit in the Delaware Valley/Philadelphia metropolitan area. The church is definitely where the crew claims their roots, but soon they found themselves out of the four walls as Carlin (Doc) and George (Stretch) began touring Mexico and South America with a latin gospel band while John toured the east coast with a neo soul group before getting together with his brother Joel to gig along the east coast with a Live hip hop group which led them to also do gigs in Antigua and Bermuda. All the while Doc and George had a continual R&B/Jazz project on the side.

Doc called the band together to do a gig at "Lengendary Dobbs" in South Philadelphia in 2012 and from there the group decided to come together and do more shows. With the fusion of personalities blending together with the mixture of different musical backgrounds a unique sound arises that is a product of who the band is as producers, sound tech. savvy artists and DJs. The band has been making a name for itself with its consistency of tight production and electronic patches that create a very "big" sound; hence the name "Soundwayve" appropriately attempts to label the group. Already the group has played, and is scheduled to play, at venues in Philly and New York such as SOB's,(NYC), Itunes Store at Soho (NY), Sigma Sound Studios (Philadelphia) and the National Penn Armory (PA). The group looks to tour internationally in the near future backing artists and being a solo act.

Whether the band is playing for thousands of people at festivals or for fifty people at an intimate local jam session in the city, the group values their listeners the same and seeks to always provide an exciting and memorable show.
