Bio

South Second is a indie rock band from Brooklyn, NY that plays Blues Rock/Americana music with classic vibes. The band was formed in late 2013 mostly by accident when guitarist Austin Cornelio randomly discovered keyboardists Robin Frenchs’ music collaborative on south second street in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

From here our first full length album “Summer of our content” was written and recorded alongside drummer/lead vocalist Vincent Giangola (yes vin is a modern day Phil Collins and leads up vocals while drumming) and bassist Diego Panich. Songs like “Opposite Me” paid direct homage to some experiences that happened on south second street:

“Well she... was in the cell opposite me, I was having a long day, dealing with my enemy”

Thus describing an event that happened where one band member and his girlfriend did some short jail time while defending the music space in which the band practiced in.

Other popular writing topics for the band draw influence heavily from past romantic relationships. The song “Local bar” states:

“You’re probably hoping your local bar is open, cause I don’t go there anymore”

This ones pretty self explanatory as we’ve all felt this one at one time in our lives.

There’s nothing more that the band likes to do other then play live shows for our fans. We’ve been making the rounds to all of NYC’s best clubs. Including The Bitter End, Pianos, Bar Matchless and others.

Lastly, some quotes from people who love our music:

"I saw you listed on The Deli's charts for Folk-Pop artists I decided to check out your website. I listened to some of your music and it's excellent; you have a wonderfully rich and exuberantly hook-filled sound"
