Bio

Through the muck and pollution of South Houston, Texas, there has been an evolution of sound called SOUTH. With influences that range in various forms from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Seether, SOUTH mixes melodic southern rock and lysergic grooves forming an eclectic blend of hard southern rock. Like the variety of influences, there is an extreme variety of personalities and playing styles in the band. From the pure voodoo that lead guitarist Lindsay Price brings to the table with his southern psychedelic solos and the guitar harmonies, modern musical influence and rhythm guitar being held down by Jon Prunes (pronounced Pru-nay), South's dueling guitar attack is edgy yet melodic. With raw bass driven grooves initiated by bassist Rob McGuigan (RPM) and drumming up an eclectic beat is Dave Paramore. To complete the sound of South, the dynamic range of vocalist Scott Easterwood is reminiscent of Jim Morrison and Phil Anselmo. When this band gets together they have the style and energy that rivals any new rock band out there.
