SOUTHBOUND
BEST NEW BAND, FAVORITE LOCAL COUNTRY BAND

"The people make this happen," said Southbound's Brent Stephens., "you play for them, you get better every time. We wanna have just as good a time as the people in front of the stage. And if we didn't have fun, then it likely means they didn't either." Calling the support of the people and business locally his favorite thing about Statesboro, Stephens speaks fondly of nights gone by, playing to friends and family in the bars, and seeing his impact on everyone around. "I love playing to my friends and my family, you know, hanging out. It's like I'm just hanging out, having fun, but I'm also up on stage playing, having a great time and helping everyone else to have a great time. - Eleventh Hour; Feb 18th-Mar 3rd, 2009. Volume 7, Issue 15

"Bandography"

They're carpeing the diem and expanding both their tour dates and their set lists in order to attract the most attention possible. Their style is varied, and they jump around from genre to genre. It isn't unusual for them to play some classic rock and then follow it up with a country piece and maybe an 80's super hit. So expect to Wang Chung the night away and leave the bar feeling like you've just rocked all night and can't party the next day, because Southbound doesn't dissapoint. Oh, they'll even do 90's stuff...check out Youtube for some frikkin awesome Collective Souls cover work. - Eleventh Hour; June 18th-July 1st, 2008. Volume 6, Issue 21.

"Southbound live in Studio Statesboro"

Southbound has been keeping busy with lots of area shows around Statesboro. The country and southern rock band formed in October and started playing out in January — and they've only been on the way up since then.

The guys joined us in Studio Statesboro to play one of their new songs that'll be featured on an upcoming demo. - Statesboro Herald; August 8, 2008

"Critic's picks: Our picks for the must-see shows over the next two weeks"

Their influences are country, Southern Rock, and pleasing their crowd. Their goal is to play anything the crowd wants to hear. The people pay to have a good time, and enthusiastic participation is the desired effect of Southbound's music. They sound like a musical cornucopia. These guys bring variety. You might hear Bon Jovi, Peter Frampton, Skynyrd, or even Hootie. Every show reflects who and what they feel like playing that night. These guys came together from other local bands and have been playing as this incarnation since November. They are all veterans of music, all playing each for over 10 years. Amazingly, when they got together to play and practice, despite their various musical backgrounds, they all connected when they sat down to play together. - Eleventh Hour; May 21st-June 3rd 2008. Volume 6, Issue 22
