Southern Comfort is an Award winning Saint John based band who made their start in January of 2009. Lead by the vocal talent of Melanie Pitre (CMT Next Country Star Runner Up...2nd place) and Saint John Female Vocalist of the year 2 yrs in a row, 2009 and most recently 2010 along with the talents of Mike Emmerson (guitarist of the year 2010 nominee), John Collier (bass player of the year 2009 and 2010 nominee) and Allison Hovey (ECMA winner and 2010 nominee for Musician of the year with Music NB), together they put on a highly energetic and professional show.
Their danceable setlist, full of crowd pleasers and favorites, has managed to keep them booked every weekend since their very start; entertaining crowds of all ages in multiple venues, ranging from clubs, festival, benefits and theaters.
The band itself has been nominated 2yrs in a row for “Band of the Year”. The band members with their combined years of experience will agree on saying that coming from very different musical backgrounds, having a tremendous passion for music and entertaining and working with various artists throughout the years is what makes "Southern Comfort" such a sweet successful band.
