Southern Distortion

Southern Distortion

We take a dynamic approach in making music interesting for our listeners. We like to use low tuning and distortion effects to give our music a heavier sound while driving the songs with intricate drum parts.

Southern Distortion was formed in 2009 in Tuscaloosa, AL, by two guys wanting to have fun playing music. The artists that make SD are Chase Dozier on lead guitar and vocals, Tyler Blakeney on guitar, Joel Johnson on bass and back-up vocals, and Thimothy “T” Lewis on drums. Kyle Stephens is SD’s sound tech, but occasionally steps in on bass guitar. SD has been playing together as a full band for approximately nine months now. They have played many gigs in and around the Tuscaloosa area while also making trips to Demopolis.

SD plays mostly rock music from old school "Johnny Cash" to new school "Kid Rock". SD puts their own twist on the covers that they play, making them more distorted. SD plays covers but yet is not a cover band. SD has ten original songs completed and is in the process of writing and completing many more. SD has many shows coming up in the future and they would like for you and your friends to come out and have a good time with them! SD is available to play anytime of the week as long as the date is not already booked.
