The three piece area band known as Southern Embers rocked the stage at Changing Times with a style of music which combines modern rock with a touch of southern rock that is bottom heavy and rocking. Original songs such as Damn Hippies, Carried by the Six and Darkness earned the band the respect of the fans in attendance, and the group also supplied the P.A. system at the last minute because of a scheduling snaffu.

"Carried by the Six" is being played on various internet radio stations. KIOC 106.1 FM in Beaumont, TX has a local show on Sunday nights and has played some of their stuff.

The band formed with the help of Myspace and started off as a four piece. After a couple of lineup changes, the band is now a trio. Southern Embers doesn't worry about what style of music is popular today. They take the timeless music of yesteryear to define their sound.
