Biography

Southern Fryde Inc is a group of long time friends and brothers from a small town in South Western Ontario Canada, and they are causing quite the stir.

They have played in bands with and without each other for 25 years. By the time they were in high school, they were playing the bars, halls and festivals locally. They were jamming Skynyrd, Outlaws, Hatchet, Charlie Daniels, and the Allman Brothers back in 79 and the people loved it.

Being from a border town in the South Western tip of Ontario, they feel a real kinship with southern rockers, outlaw country, and red dirt music. They felt lucky to have good ole USA radio stations that played the southern rock, so they jumped all over it. Just across their river, IS the good ole USA.

Last fall, Dave Allan, Ddroyd, and Stu Brandon started writing their tunes, and it just flowed naturally. 11 songs were written in a couple weeks and they got on the cell and called up a couple old jamming buddies, Dale Good, JP Esser, and Big Daddy, Roy. "We couldn't have made a better choice, they are machines and came into the studio and laid the tracks down flawlessly (mostly first take)", says Dave. "We love the rawness of it all. We just jammed it out and you can feel what we came up with."

Their soon to be released cd is sure to please music lovers everywhere. For now, enjoy these raw versions right here on Reverb Nation.
The positive feedback has been enormous and the guys wish to thank you for all the kind words! As one long time fan said, "It's about time these guys are getting noticed in a huge way, it can't happen to a bunch of nicer guys...they deserve it!"

The music rocks, it's fresh, they take chances, and it's paying off, not just for them, but for the fans of southern rock, alternative and outlaw country, and yeah, good ole straight ahead rock.

Southern Fryde Inc. is extremely interested in hooking up with management, and possible tours. Connect with them here.

Tear It Up In Texas

Written By: Andrew J. Esser and Dave Allan

Chris Knight on his flat-top
String’em up, tune’em up, watch’em go
Way down in Waco, at the Eli Young show
Willy Nelson, Always on my mind
Orbison’s Blue Bayou will get ya feelin’ fine
Crowd going manic for Mike and the Mechanics
No stoppin’, with Robert Johnson, or Janis Joplin

Kenny Rogers when the lights down low
Wanna crank it up, ZZ Top’s DEGÜELLO
I be headin’ for the nexus
Those cats sure tear it up in Texas

Listen to the Red Dirt Radio
On the Austin City Limits show
Stevie Ray Vaughn rerun coming on
Send ya chill’s of joy
Like a ditty from the Los Lonely Boys

Steve Miller, and his big old Jet airline-oh
Lucinda Williams she’ll get ya up and on the go

Pantera, Mickey and the Motor Cars
No stoppin, when you’re jumpin to Lightnin Hopkins
Waylon Jennings with the lights on low
Wanna crank up; those Winter boys will groove your soul
I be headin for the nexus
Those cats sure tear it up in Texas

Listen to the Red Dirt Radio
The Austin City Limits show
Buck Owens strumming on his old banjo
Their fingers flying
Something for everyone, there’s no denying; No!

My World

Written By: Andrew J. Esser and Dave Allen

My world around me, split at the seam
Tries to take me down; hold on to my dream
Beyond another day of sorrow
I will have brighter tomorrows

I hold my head up high, surrounded by my years
Though every time I try, something knocks me back in tears
Get right back on up, for I am not alone
There is someone waiting for me, when I come home

And so I carry on, until I reach good-night
Through my golden years, beyond my current twilight
Misunderstanding seems to rule the day
Through it all, I will find my own way

Hold my head high, through knowledge of my years
So many times, been sent to wander, alone with all my fears
The challenges before me I’ve still to attain
The only reason that I’m still sane

All the changes; behind me
Unmolested over time, through my rhyme
All the feelings before me that I shared with you
Help to me to make them true

Snow Stomp

Written By: Andrew J. Esser, Dave Allan and Stu Brandon

In my coffee shop, my escape from the northern cold
Winter time, see people on the go
Sit back, drink my cup and watch the show
Hometown Sarnia, down in southern Ontario
Before they’re stepping through the door
Go through the ritual; stomping on the floor

Left, right up and down
Hips shaken all around
Watching as the deal go down
No doubt about it
They be a doin’ a snow stomp

One thing I never fail to miss
Old man winter blows his chilly kiss
Pull on the gear with my brother, head outside
On the snow machines, just for a ride
When I come home, before I’m through the door
Same old ritual going as before

Left, right up and down
Ass shaken all around
Looking just like a clown
No doubt about it
I be a doin’ a snow stomp

It don’t matter who or where you are
Before you’re inside warming by the fire
One thing we all do, rich or poor
Same old story, your shaken at the door

Left, right up and down
Boobs shaken all around
Looking just like a clown
No doubt about it
We be a doin’ the snow stomp

Bilderberg Blues

Written By: Andrew J. Esser, Dave Allan and Stu Brandon

High Priests of globalization
Drive morality from our nation
Capitalism prophets who spin the world’s demise
Millions dying right before our eyes
Those of strength never tell you what they’ve heard
Little old band called Bilderburg

Exploitation and despair
Inequalities, wounds of no repair
Crushing dissidents, the lowly are despised
Almighty dollars reflected in their eyes
They choose the people who think they are in power
Control all money; it grows for them by the hour

Controlling media, they own the banks
Those they can’t control, overrun with tanks
Switching off the suffering, they clearly cause
Binding litigations wrapped in legal clause
Wanting world control, least that’s the word
People of power joined through Bilderburg

Fantasy

Written By: Stu Brandon, Dave Allan and Andrew J. Esser

Say that you love me, you say that you care
What do you really think of me, when I’m not there?
Do you see me in your dreams, making love somewhere?
We got to get it together, and breathe some clean fresh air
Was I all that you ever wanted, or just another fantasy?

Didn’t claim to be much; I thought you’d see right through
Walls I put up around me, I didn’t wanna show you
Tried and gave it your best shot; get deep inside
Thought you’d get to know me; find out what’s on my mind
Was I all that you ever wanted, or just another fantasy?

Say that you love me, you say that you care
What do you really think of me, when I’m not there?
Tried and gave it your best shot; to keep the lovin’ alive
You never fail to excite me; you make me feel so alive
Was I all that you ever wanted, or just another fantasy?
Was I all that you ever wanted, or just another fantasy?
Was I all that you ever wanted, or just another fantasy?
