Reena, Southgate and Leigh
You may not have heard of this brand-new London-based duo yet – but undoubtedly, you soon will. Taken from their debut album, Where We Are, their debut single is chirpy, poppy and summery, while still managing to sound super-cool. Which is quite a feat. Not quite like anything I’ve heard before, I’d like to say they’re ‘the new....’ – but there’s no-one to compare them against. Let’s just say they’re the new them. Be the very first to have this on your iPod and you’ll be the coolest cat in town – and one of the happiest, too. - Cosmopolitan

Bio
Phillipa Leigh and Phil Southgate met at an impromptu jam session at the Edinburgh Festival. The pair decided to gig together when they got back to London playing covers of jazz, blues and soul at venues including Ronnie Scotts and Charlotte Street Blues Bar.
Phillipa Leigh trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Phil Southgate is a skilled jazz musician, once becoming a Daily Telegraph Young Jazz Musician Finalist.
After hearing a couple of Phil’s compositions Phillipa was inspired to write lyrics to fit them. Once a couple of songs were complete Phillipa decided to quit everything else and (with a little help from the recession) persuaded Phil to give up his day job in favour of music. They did covers together in a few different bands before breaking away to write full time together and form the songwriting act "Southgate and Leigh" in which Phil plays piano and keyboards and composes the music and Phillipa sings and writes the lyrics.
