Bio

Music and poetry have always been my love. When I first learned to play I thought of them as one. I sang and played other peoples' songs. I listened to the radio and played along. But I always wanted to write my own songs.
"When my first attempt at writing poetry and putting it to music got stolen by a friend, hearing it on the radio was no consolation. Worse-some people went out and bought the record but said they liked my version better.
So I started a band and tried again. My pride was unfettered. It's my song on the radio this time. Riding through my hometown with the top down on my white '63 Chevy convertible listening to "Only on a Rainy Day". I thought the top was in-sight. But not quite. We toured around and played around the South and the Mid-West We played on Bandstand at Aquarama, Philadelphia at Craig Records request. Surely we've made it big now. But it all faded away in a blurr of honkey tonks and one night stands.
So I got a job, fell in love, my son was born, a sad divorce and they were gone. It broke my heart, my spirit too. Took a long time to see me through. I worked with wonderful people in a mind-numbing job. But I finally learned a trade I could be proud of. But my heart wasn't in it, I wasn't really there...now I have a pension and dental care. Playing on the weekends with a day job, too, kinda' burnt me out like "Fast Guns and Rotgut" do...
"I reached for the sun through the pouring rain, gave away my heart and fell in love again".
So now as time goes by and I find the space I need, I'll play my music and write poetry. I'll play and sing even tho' I'm old, the spirit and passion still in my soul."
