The best kept secret in music

"South of Nowhere"

After being contacted by Blair Simmons with a request to shoot South of
Nowhere's first music video, he mailed me a couple of the band's CD's,
and I quickly got a taste of the band's lyrical and musical expression,
and let me say that after listening to a lot of indie bands, I could see
that they were easily in my mind one of Buffalo's best as well as a top
candidate for a soon to be breakthrough. At that point, meeting them
was the next task, and after sharing lots of laughs and stories amongst
each other, it was easy to see that these were four guys who had a lot
of drive, humor, and enthusiasm for the music business and life itself.
I was also very impressed with both the sound and energy that came out
of the band's live show. Well, needless to say the video shoot went
great and I am now happy to call South of Nowhere my friends in a
business where that is not the norm.

Feeling a bit camera shy

What sets a band apart from the pack? Listen to SOUTH OF NOWHERE and you might find the answer to this question. Since the group's inception, SOUTH OF NOWHERE has shaken Buffalo, NY's music scene to its roots. They have created an aggressive music with brains, soul, and energy. A SOUTH OF NOWHERE show is an outpouring of this fiery mixture. The quartet displays a poise and power onstage to be envied-they play like superstars.

Born of two groups: Heavy/melodic Manhandle and Hip/Hop-funk rockers Outcome - SOUTH OF NOWHERE is the collision crossbreed of its progenitors. "We are SOUTH OF NOWHERE," proclaimed vocalist/guitarist Blair Simmons the first night the band took the stage, together with guitarist/vocalist Rick Kozel, drummer Josh Dzina, and the enigmatic Vaughan J. Perrott on bass.

SOUTH OF NOWHERE'S songs speak for the group's innovative mixture of styles. "Blind Eye" grooves to a reggae/rock hybrid while "To Protect and Serve" explodes into a high-energy slugfest. But the group knows control-where others scream, SOUTH OF NOWHERE harmonizes intricate vocals. The creative energy is surprising and refreshing. SOUTH OF NOWHERE is a powerful new voice in music-one unafraid to try something different and never hold back.
