South Parade

South Parade

BandPopFunk

Bass and drums driven rock with elements of funk – allowing pop guitar and vocals to supply an instantly listenable sound, that makes people want to get up and dance!!!

Biography

South Parade have been together for over five years now, playing regular live music in the Oxfordshire area. Our early influences included: The Rolling Stones, Hendrix and the like. Now after five years of writing and performing together we have developed our own style. I suppose music that influences us now would include: Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, RHCP, Kings of Leon, Razorlight – however none of these independently represent our sound. A more accurate description would be, bass and drums driven rock with elements of funk – allowing pop guitar and vocals to supply an instantly listenable sound, that makes people want to get up and dance.
Notable events include:
- O2 Academy (2009 & 2010)
- Guilfest (2008)
- Co-Headlined Oxford’s Official Rock + Pop Festival (2007)
- Opened Emma’s Trust Festival (2007)
“How can Alexandra Burke be Christmas number one, while band’s like South Parade remain unsigned” – Gareth Huish (Unsignedfinds.com)
