Biography: Space Lounge
Experimental/Ambient/Rock

Built from the ground up, Space Lounge began as a drum and bass duo with Bobby D’Agostino on bass and James Felter on drums. Having already been the rhythm section in a couple bands, Space Lounge was ripe for creating grooves and hooks in their basement. They worked out song structures and built upon them in layers with their home recording equipment and collection of instruments. This all encompassing approach allows for a very pure form of expression. Space Lounge is a unique sonic project that continues to evolve.
Space Lounge recordings are lush and textural. Their good sense of balance allows them throw curve balls in catchy songs. They know when to be off the wall, when to mellow out, and sometimes how to do both at the same time.
Wanting to spread their music in a live incarnation as well as recorded, Space Lounge employs Ryan Slowey, classically trained metal guitarist, and Jon Malek, bassist for the former Catapult Villa.
Cumulative by nature, Space Lounge’s live shows begin with slow growing feedback and noise. As the sounds begin to take shape a song emerges like a big bang. A drum circle here, a megaphone there, the big picture is always changing.
Space Lounge greets the New Year with plans for recording new material, and perhaps expanding their live lineup.
