Space Pirates

In 2006 Space Pirates where starting to build a live-act, somewhere in an old seacontainer. They started making music their own because of the borring housemusic at that moment. They starting experimenting with little gear and a lot of creativity. The members of Space Pirates made the decicion to make a real live-act, not a laptopklicking one. They play live and not trough MIDI. Six months later they expanded the concept with their own VJ.

From the start Space Pirates gathered a lot fans after each show, they audience love the raw electro sound. On

April 2007 was their debuut during Q-day in Eindhoven. They played on the talent area, the audience overthere where overwhelmed of the sound and show.

In september 2007 Space Pirates made their first DVDemo instead of an demoCD, Space Pirates you must see and hear. On the end of that year de band was playing on a showcase of B-Stage, a contest for new talents. A few months later they played at 3FM and had more then 15 minutes of airplay.

Queensday 2008 they where
once again booked for a gig this time by PACT, they run a party in a parkinggarage. On the end of the show the whole parkinggarage went crazy.

December 2008 Space Pirates are finalist on the ‘Grote Prijs van Nederland’ the biggest contest of the
Netherlands. On that finale they won the ‘Audience favorit Price’. Shortly after the finals they where booked as supporting-act of De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig at Effenaar in Eindhoven. The audience at that concert was new and more mainstream, they loved the show. Show after show the fanbase is growing and the name Space
Pirates becomes well known.

Queensday 2009 a dream becomes thruth, in 2007 on the talentpodium Space Pirates spoke out their
ambition; play on the mainstage. In 2009 they played the mainstage and for the first time over 5000 people.
After that they played on Minimaal Kabaal and rocked the place, on Blind-ID there was a pitt on the dancefloor and the organisation had to support the DJ booth.

WiSH Outdoor was the first serious regional festival, they must play on a substage in a tent on a hot sunnyday. Troughout the day there were no more then 20 people because of the temprature. Space Pirates started also with 20 people but on the end of the show the tent was filled with crowed who loved the show.

September 2009 they play on Reloaded festival, this nationwide festival is organized by the Matrixx. Space
Pirates are playing on one of the five mainstage between artists like: Dr. Lektroluv, Kraak & Smaak, Brodinski, Sneak, Benjamin Bates, the Subs and Nobody Beats the Drum.

In November Space Pirates made their debute in
Belgium at Ansarat Festival. In the first months of 2010 the band was changing software from Reasson to Logic and improving theur sound. More and more festivals discover the sound and energy of Space Pirates, festivals like; Aangeschoten Wild
Festival, Deurne de Dopeste, Emporium Festival, WiSH Outdoor, Intents Festival, Fantasy Island en het
Belgische Daydream Festival.

This year they want to release their first tracks and want to play on Eurosonic in January 2012.
