Bio

Blending odd meters with hard hitting pockets is what makes Spacklebury tick. This incarnation of the Dekalb based sextet was ripped from the womb in early 2004. with the release of their first album, Sleeping with Prince Valium, Spacklebury has become an ever present force in the mid-west music scene. The driving rhythm section is provided by Triple Prince Peckat on bass and Mergatron on drums.(they lay the heavy grooves that keep the music in motion) The improvisational element of the music allows the combo of guitarist John McKillip, a.k.a. GC, and keyboardist Max Rebo to shine uniquely at every show. Adding the final ingredient to Spacklebury are the horns provided by Scooter on sax and Gomez on trombone. With influences ranging from herbs to alcohol to Macauly Culkin, Spacklebury is self described as "progressive funk-core". Spacklebury is back in the studio to record there second album The Perky Bomb so be on the lookout.
